Why can’t I skateboard through a medieval castle where specifically does it say that I can’t

Give me James Purefoy holding a sword and I'm a happy boy.
I absolutely loved this movie as a kid and rewatching I still have a lot of fun despite the many flaws. Most of which come from the limited made-for-TV budget, but the janky CGI and Spirit Halloween costumes honestly adds to the charm. Most of the budget went to the actors: the late greats Patrick Swayze and Michael Clarke Duncan, the beautiful Piper Perabo, and even an uncredited Val Kilmer shows up for a sec!
My favorite part is Purefoy in the lead role. I seriously have no idea why he never became a huge star. He brings some much-needed oomph to low budget fantasy/historical outings (shout out…

Everything about this movie was disappointingly mediocre. The story, plot, script, score, acting, dragon visual effects, all kind of... meh.
What kept me watching - the beautiful Piper Perabo and the late, great Patrick Swayze and Michael Clarke Duncan.
For all of you that took the time to read my review, thank you and I hope you enjoyed it. Comments and positive feedback are always welcome.

Happy St George's day!
What better appropriate film to watch today than this cheesy gem of an obvious film?!
Also, this film had me in stitches with the skateboarding monk!
Also, did the princess just said; "George, watch out for that tree!"?!

Properly bizarre, weirdly funny but also kind of annoying, all in all I was just really not interested. Patrick Swayze hops up with a massive sword and long hair, Val Kilmer appears for about 50 seconds and there's a massive CGI dragon that was just, just terrible. Was I having a fever dream? it's possible, was I on drugs? I don't recall, but this movie was enough to make wonder what the hell was I watching, at least the end credit bloopers were funny though, Purefoy threw a dragon-horn into a tree, HA!

Definitely was not expecting to like this film as much as I did. It's cheesy and it has its flaws, but it's quirky and fun - something the whole family can enjoy. Particularly liked the end-credits with the hilarious blooper reel.

Skateboarding monk ☑️
Val Kilmer and Michael Clarke Duncan swordfighting blindfolded ☑️
Swayze looking like a Galahad from Spamalot ☑️
Rampant Prince of Thieves thievery ☑️
Hilariously abrupt and ill-placed IMDbTV ads ☑️
Goons all exchanging the same 3 Trailer Wars wigs ☑️
Piper Perabo looking like she wandered in from a 2004 Wet Seal window display ☑️
FIVE MINUTE gag reel in credits ☑️I don’t know where it went but SyFy apparently plunked $32m into this thing. It’s the kind of busted-ass movie you rent at the library when you’re a kid. Val Kilmer is in one scene (uncredited) and I have to admit he looked pretty good slinging that steel. I wonder if he got paid.

My mom chose this because it’s filmed in Luxembourg. She went “oh there’s actual dragons in this?” In a movie titled George and the Dragon.
Patrick Swayze is the only one with an American accent in this and that rocks

Axe and ye shall receive 👏👏👏👏
Stray/Actual Observations:
*It can totally be argued that this movie is unintentionally hilarious because it's so bad it's good, but it also knows EXACTLY what it is. There's a blooper reel during the end credits that includes one where a horse is pooping in the background of the shot, and James Purefoy exclaims that the horse is "taking a turd." This is why I stand by a 4/5 and not a 1/5, and it can argued that it's either one of those ratings, and both of them.
*I honestly think Patrick Swayze and James Purefoy have better chemistry than either had with Piper Perabo. Their fight choreography against the Picts (which totally has to… -

This wasn’t about George and a dragon.

Well, a harmless fantasy-comedy with a decent CGI dragon (for its time!). I was surprised (and a little baffled) to see Val Kilmer in a cameo, but he looked good, even if his acting was heartless. It definitely ended a lot better than it started.
